What's left

Broken pieces of the past make me cry
I whisper and I waffle
One piece at a time
Unfounded I look ahead
Throwing stones to cast my way
Light shines up on me
Preaching
Silouttes
Who dance on walls
Famous with the undesired
Request that linger on the lips
We need to reveal
Heal
be true
Swords are sharp and they sway
In hips that cannot lie
Visions fail me with blinds drawn
For a moment we escape
Then sink into the same sand
Casualties of the mind
Dissolve
Words like bodies limp on bare floors
Call out in phrases
I no longer understand
All paths lead back home
Lost in streets we roam
Silent aching for ears that listen
Arms that warm
Creature comforts want more
In the night
With empty bottles
Left alone
We gather stones to pave our lives together
In the sweetness that is desire
Everything else crumbles to make sense
Between bodies that never thought hope would restore our dreams
